Comparative Study between the Bible versus the Quran (38)
Chapter by Chapter and Verse by Verse; A: The first part
(Chapter 38:1-10)
The Old Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about Judah took Tamar as a wife for Er his firstborn.
Er was wicked and the Lord slew him! Judah commanded his son Onan to marry Tamar to rise up seed to Er. Onan ejaculated his semen on the ground! The Lord slew him also! (Then Judah solved the problem by committing adultery with Tamar!!!) American Thinker: Thieves, give Muhammad a hand!:: First, in Maulana Muhammad Ali's translation of Sura 5:38 (The Holy Qur'an, 5:38 is a nice effort on his part, but this only shows how the Quran shifts http://www.americanthinker.com/articles.php?article_id=4406HOME |
The New Testament Verses from 1-10 are talking about Jesus forbade the divorce (see the second part).
The Noble Quran Verses from 1-10 are talking about the disbelievers said that the Prophet is a lying sorcerer (see the third part).

Old Testament:
Chapter 38 in the Old Testament is Genesis 38; it is composed of 30 verses.
Verses from 1-10 are talking about Judah took Tamar as a wife for Er his firstborn. Er was wicked and the Lord slew him! Judah commanded his son Onan to marry Tamar to rise up seed to Er. Onan ejaculated his semen on the ground! The Lord slew Onan! (Then Judah solved the problem by committing adultery with Tamar!!!)
----------------
There are some questions about this story of Judah, and his family:
1- The Lord slew Er because he was wicked!
In the Bible there are many wicked people but the Lord did nothing with them!
2- Why Onan did not refuse to marry Tamar instead of ejaculating his semen out of her?
3- If Onan had seeds from Tamar, to whom these seed would belong to? His died brother Er or to Onan?
4- How come that you marry a wife and your seeds belonged to another person?
5- Anyway, Judah solved such a puzzle by committing adultery with his sons wife Tamar!!!
6- Death is the Penalty for ejaculation of semen on the ground! The Lord slew Onan because of that.
7- Why the Lord slew Onan? If Er was wicked and Onan prevented Er from having seeds, then it is good not bad or what the smart reader think?
8- In this story, it seems likely that Tamar had no saying, marry Er OK, marry Onan Ok and commit adultery OK. This illustrate that the wife in the Bible has no rights!
9- What is the wisdom of this story? Is it to give us an example of the acts of family members? Or what do you think?
10- The verses give a bad figure for the Lord, God Love!

Genesis 38 (King James Version)
1] And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.
2] And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her.
3] And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er.
4] And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan.
5] And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah: and he was at Chezib, when she bare him.
6] And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.
7] And Er, Judahs firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him.
8] And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brothers wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.
9] And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brothers wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
10] And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also.
